STUDIO POLICIES

Enrollment - A brief in-person interview with a parent and child is recommended before starting lessons. The recommended age for starting lessons is 7 years old or 2nd grade.  Parents wishing for their child to start lessons at an earlier age must commit to being active and present in their child’s lessons and practicing. All students must have a piano or high quality keyboard to practice on at home. 

Tuition - Lessons are $35 per half hour lesson or $50 per forty-five minute lesson. Tuition is to be paid in advance monthly, and payments must be made by the 15th of each month. Any overpayment due to an excused absence will result in a credit for the following month. Payments can be made by check to Karen Rock or through Venmo @Karen-Rock-9. 

Attendance - Regular attendance at lessons is an important part of successful piano study. Please notify me 48 hours in advance of any non-illness related absence. Please notify me a minimum of two hours in advance of any illness related absence. Makeup lessons can be arranged for lessons cancelled in advance and for non-illness reasons. If no notification is given and a student does not show up for their lesson, payment is expected for that lesson.

Lesson Schedule - Lessons are offered year round. There will be no lessons during Thanksgiving break as well as during the December and April breaks. Lessons will continue as usual during long weekends such as Columbus Day weekend and Presidents’ Day weekend. Virtual lessons will be offered on snow days.

Materials - Books and sheet music will be purchased by me and reimbursed by the person paying for the lessons. I will let you know in advance of any purchases I will be making.
